The City of Kendallville Police Department is a full-service police agency, providing police protection to a city of approximately 10,000 residents and a land area of approximately 6 square miles. The Police Department employs 28 full-time persons: 19 sworn officers, 8 full time dispatchers and 1 records clerk. As part of the department, the Kendallville Police Communications Center receives information and calls from citizens and assigns patrol units to respond to criminal and traffic incidents. The Kendallville Police Communications Center also maintains law enforcement records, provides general operations and maintenance support. The Department also has 2 part-time Code Enforcement Officers who enforce City ordinances and violations.
Our department responds to citizens requests for information, coordinates activities with community organizations and assists school administrators in support of safer schools. We also facilitate the safe and expedient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, provide neighborhood patrols and serve as a presence for the deterrence of crime. Through the continued education and training of our sworn officers and dispatchers, we work to make the City of Kendallville a safe community.
