The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is a group of youth members (Grade 6-12) from Kendallville and the surrounding areas. We plan and fundraise for activities, events, and service work that we think is important in Kendallville such as The Alley, Save the Strand, International Festival, and the Christmas Parade Bake Sale. Along with service work, MYAC also has one representative that sits with city council and provides a youth perspective while also informing other MYAC members of important things happening in the city. Our adult mentors are SuzAnne Handshoe and Kristen Johnson.
Members meet twice a month during the school year in the Police Training Room located at 234 S Main Street. Dinner is provided at the meetings, and we are always accepting new members. Applications can be obtained at the meeting. Please contact the mayor's office for more information.
